Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Below are answers to common questions we receive. If you don’t see your question here, please reach out—we’re happy to help.
1. What are your hours?
We do not have receptionists at our physical office locations. Our virtual business office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and is closed on all federal holidays.
Therapists at Seasons set their own schedules, and many offer evening and weekend appointments. All psychotherapy sessions are by appointment only.
We are not a crisis provider.
If you’d like to know a therapist’s availability, please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.
We use a self-service check-in kiosk at our Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Coral Springs locations.
Upon arrival, please follow the prompts on the screen. Your clinician will be notified that you are in the lobby and will greet you when it’s time for your session.
Our Client Care Coordinators will help match you with a therapist based on your needs, goals, and preferences.
Due to state licensure regulations, we cannot provide therapy to clients located outside of Florida.
If your therapist does not feel like the right fit, speak with them or contact us and we’ll help you transition to another provider.
Your first session is focused on getting to know you. Your therapist will:
  • Discuss your history and what brought you to therapy
  • Explore your goals
  • Explain how therapy works
  • Review confidentiality (including for couples and parents of minors)
  • Review practice policies
  • Answer your questions
Our goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard.
We may complete certain paperwork with the following requirements:
  • You must attend at least 6 therapy sessions before documentation can be completed.
  • Paperwork services are not covered by insurance and involve a fee.
  • Documentation needs should be discussed directly with your therapist.
  • Please bring up documentation needs in the first session.
Please note: Some forms require completion by a medical doctor or psychologist. In those cases, we may not be the appropriate provider.
No. We do not conduct child custody evaluations.
Custody evaluations require specialized forensic training and differ from the role of a treating therapist. When working with children, our role is to support their emotional well-being—not to make custody recommendations.
If needed, we can refer families to qualified forensic evaluators.
No. In Florida, only qualified physicians registered with the Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) may provide medical marijuana certification.
As psychotherapists, we do not provide medical evaluations or prescriptions.
No. For liability reasons, our clinicians do not provide letters for ESAs or service animals. This requires specialized training and liability coverage.
Most sessions are approximately 50 minutes, typically once per week.
Family sessions or specialized services may vary in length. Insurance does not cover sessions longer than one hour.
EAP sessions are 35–45 minutes.
Frequency depends on your needs and goals. Many clients begin weekly and adjust over time.
Florida Medicaid plans allow 26 individual or family therapy sessions per Medicaid fiscal year (July 1–June 30). We may be able to request additional sessions based upon medical necessity.
We provide outpatient psychotherapy (“talk therapy”). For children, this may include play therapy or other developmentally appropriate approaches.
