Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
in Florida
SFBT is a future-oriented approach that builds on what’s already working. We’ll identify preferred outcomes, notice exceptions to the problem, and design small, concrete steps forward. Sessions are practical and efficient—aimed at creating meaningful change without overcomplicating the path.
Sometimes when life feels overwhelming, it’s easy to get stuck in the loop of everything that’s going wrong. But what if, instead of only focusing on the problems, you could start from what’s already going right? At Seasons Psychotherapy Associates, we believe that therapy isn’t just about uncovering pain — it’s also about uncovering strength.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is different from traditional, problem-focused therapy models. Instead of digging endlessly into the past or labeling all the things that have gone wrong, SFBT asks:
• What’s working, even a little bit?
• What strengths have helped you get this far?
• What would your life look like if things got just a little better?
Rather than treating you like a collection of problems to fix, SFBT treats you like someone who already has wisdom, courage, and skills — and who might just need some help seeing them more clearly.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy feels lighter and more energizing than traditional therapy, but it’s no less meaningful. In session, you might find yourself:
• Imagining what life could look like if a “miracle” happened overnight
• Talking about the tiniest moments when things felt better
• Exploring your own reasons for hope, change, and growth
• Identifying practical next steps you can take — steps that feel doable, not overwhelming
Your therapist isn’t there to diagnose everything that’s wrong with you. They’re there to help you build on what’s strong, amplify your resilience, and move forward with purpose.
SFBT can be incredibly useful if you are:
• Feeling stuck but ready for movement
• Coping with anxiety, depression, relationship changes, work stress, or life transitions
• Struggling with motivation or self-doubt
• Wanting therapy to be more action-oriented and goal-focused
At Seasons, we don’t force any one model onto every client. Not every therapist uses pure SFBT — but many of our clinicians integrate solution-focused techniques naturally, helping you spot your own resources and successes.
You Don’t Have to Understand Every Problem to Start Building a Better Future. You already have what it takes to take the next step.
