Online Therapy
in Florida (Telehealth)

Telehealth therapy allows you to receive the same quality of care from the comfort of your home. Through secure video sessions, you can connect with your therapist conveniently and confidentially, making it easier to prioritize your mental health—no commute required.

Compassionate Care from the Comfort of Home

At Seasons Psychotherapy Associates, we offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth therapy to clients across Florida. Whether you’re managing a busy schedule, navigating mobility challenges, or simply feel more comfortable at home, our online therapy services make mental health care more accessible and flexible—without sacrificing quality.

All sessions are conducted through SimplePractice, our confidential, easy-to-use video platform designed specifically for mental health care. If, for any reason, SimplePractice is not functioning properly, your clinician will provide a secure, HIPAA-compliant Google Meet link as a backup option to ensure your session can still take place without compromising privacy or care.

What Is Telehealth Therapy?

Telehealth therapy—also called online therapy or virtual counseling—allows you to meet with a psychotherapist via live video. You receive the same personalized, professional care you would in our offices—just from wherever you feel most at ease.

We offer virtual sessions for:

  • Individual therapy (adults, teens, and some children)
  • Couples and family counseling
  • Low-cost therapy through our Student Clinician Program

Florida-Based Care Only

All Seasons clinicians are licensed to practice in the state of Florida only. You must be physically located in Florida at the time of each telehealth session—even if you live elsewhere or are traveling temporarily.

If you are outside of Florida, we’re happy to help you explore local options or resume services when you return.

Benefits of Online Therapy

Clients often find that telehealth therapy is just as impactful as in-person sessions—and in many cases, more convenient.

Telehealth makes therapy more accessible by:

  • Eliminating commute time and travel barriers
  • Offering more flexibility for busy schedules, including evening sessions
  • Providing continuity of care during illness, relocation, or life transitions
  • Expanding access to therapy in rural or underserved areas
  • Creating comfort by allowing you to attend from your own space

With a private setting and reliable internet connection, therapy can continue seamlessly from anywhere in Florida.

Guidelines for a Successful Telehealth Experience

To protect your privacy, maintain clinical standards, and ensure the highest quality of care, all clients are expected to follow these telehealth policies:

  • Attend sessions from a private, confidential location. Sessions may not take place in public spaces or in the presence of others who are not participating in treatment.
  • Do not attend sessions while driving, riding in a vehicle, or in transit. For safety and legal reasons, sessions will be ended if a client is operating a vehicle or unable to remain stationary in a private space.
  • Treat virtual sessions with the same professionalism as in-office appointments. Please arrive on time, remain fully present, and limit distractions (including multitasking, texting, or moving between locations).
  • Use a reliable device and stable internet connection. A functioning camera and microphone are required to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.

Telehealth sessions are held to the same clinical and ethical standards as in-person therapy. Your commitment to these guidelines helps protect your confidentiality, supports meaningful therapeutic work, and ensures a safe and respectful environment for everyone involved.

Telehealth for Children and Teens

Virtual therapy can be highly effective for children and adolescents—with caregiver partnership.

To support your child’s experience:

  • Set up a distraction-free, confidential space
  • Collaborate with the therapist to create a Telehealth Toolkit (art supplies, play materials, emotion cards, calming tools, etc.)
  • Be available for caregiver check-ins or coaching when needed
  • Reinforce consistency, session routines, and confidentiality

With the right environment and support, telehealth sessions can be creative, engaging, and deeply meaningful for younger clients.

When Is Telehealth Not Recommended?

While telehealth works well for many individuals, it may not be appropriate in certain circumstances, including:

  • Active suicidal thoughts, psychosis, or acute mental health crises
  • Lack of access to a private, confidential space
  • Technology limitations that prevent a reliable connection
  • Being physically located outside of Florida during sessions

If you’re unsure whether telehealth or in-person therapy is right for you, we’ll help you determine the best option.

Insurance and Telehealth Coverage

Most insurance plans—including Medicaid and Medicare—now cover telehealth services. Our team will verify your benefits and explain your coverage before your first appointment.

If you are paying privately or participating in our Low-Cost Program, telehealth remains a flexible and affordable option.
